Served as the chief advancement officer responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive development program. Responsible for the corporate and foundation relations, federal grants and contracts, major gifts, stewardship and advancement services. Provide strategic planning, fundraising administration and operations, human resource management, budgeting, policy development & implementation, and oversight for all functional areas of the division. As a part of the President’s Senior Leadership Team, provided strategic planning, budget development and budget prioritization for SREB. Responsible for transforming Information Technology at SREB to equip the organization with the tools necessary to accomplish SREB’s mission.

•Conduct program evaluation for programs, states, districts, and communities.•Create formative and evaluative assessments for faculty, teachers, students and administrators.•Motivational Speaking to Students on various topics: (Social Responsibility, Personal Responsibility, How Our Choices Affect Our Future, How To Achieve Post-Secondary Success, and The Tools for Success)•Workshops to Teachers on various topics: (How To Reach Urban Students, How To Support First Generation Students, How To Understand And Support Minority Students, How To Understand And Support Low-Income Students, How To Understand And Support Black Male, How To Spark Motivation in Students, How To Make AP A Success, and The Problem With Deficit Thinking.•Provide Interpretation of Test Scores (National, ITBS, EOCT, State Exams)•Provide grant review for evidence and evaluation.

The Vice President also serves as a senior member of APLU ’s leadership team and reports directly to the President.Provide leadership to promote and advance access, diversity and student achievement across all APLU institutions;Lead strategic advocacy and policy efforts in support of APLU -member minority serving institutions including 1890s, 1994s and Hispanic Serving Institutions;Lead research and analysis on issues and topics related to college access and completion at public higher education institutions;Provide leadership in advancing the land-grant mission of learning, research and engagement;Work effectively with leadership of the above referenced Council, Commission and Board, in the achievement of their respective missions;and Promote partnerships and collaborative programs with public and private firms/organizations designed to advance the mission of public universities;

•Manages a portfolio of policy related projects, from the strategic planning stage through operational stages, including conceptualization, development, implementation, and evaluation.•Identifies and analyzes emerging policy issues and trends in alignment with the organization’s mission and the College Board Advocacy & Policy Center goals. Synthesizes policy research to inform the policy and advocacy agenda of the Center.•Supports the development and implementation of the Center’s policy agenda. Critiques legislation and provides objective policy analysis to inform the Center’s public outreach and advocacy efforts. Helps manage the development of well-researched policy solutions and recommendations related to college access and preparation, college affordability and financial aid, college admission and completion.•Helps develop and maintain a highly-visible presence for the College Board Advocacy & Policy Center in the public policy arena, presenting the Center’s recommendations and reports, speaking at professional conferences and meetings, and serving on advisory panels.•Plans and implements briefings and events for policymakers in support of the College Board’s federal and state government relations and outreach agendas.•Working with the Vice President Advocacy and project leaders, oversees the development and management of Center policy publications. Writes and edits policy briefs, and papers, prepares advocacy materials and internal policy summaries; tracks and analyzes legislation.•Organizes and chairs teams of cross-functional staff to respond to special challenges and opportunities in relation to advocacy, policy, government relations and development. This includes representing the Advocacy & Policy Center on special projects that involve several organization units, such as the college completion agenda campaign.•Develops advocacy-related presentations, including webinars, speeches, panels, and testimony.

Updated and maintained access database of existing manufacturing businesses throughout Georgia.•Attended meetings with state senators, representatives, and other elected officials.•Developed draft gubernatorial executive orders, and legislation dealing with economic development.•Analyzed and interpreted bills in the Georgia Legislature that affect economic development policy. •Tracked bills through the Georgia Legislature that have a direct impact on economic development within Georgia. •Researched state statutes and codes that affect economic development in Georgia. •Attended legislative sessions and committee meetings of the Georgia Legislature and other state economic development organizations.
