I am a creative and versatile information professional with experience in libraries and research, journalism and education who helps people connect the dots in a complicated world. I have researched and reported from West Africa, the Pacific and now the MENA region, where I work as a librarian at a university in the Gulf. In these environments I’ve learned to listen well, learn quickly and communicate effectively to help people and organizations solve their problems. Teaching working journalists, high school students, undergraduates and graduate students, adult learners and faculty has taught the importance of understanding user needs to tailor my approach. I am also a pretty good public speaker. I am currently an acquisitions librarian, managing the life cycle of our libraries’ electronic resources, a job that includes investigating new content for purchase and evaluating current holdings. I also work with faculty, undergraduates and graduate students find the information they need using the best tools available.
