As Co-Founder, CEO and Executive Creative Director of Mustache, John has made a career defined by his talent for dreaming up bold, creative ideas and executing them with passion. Mustache, a 60-person digital agency in DUMBO, was perhaps John’s boldest and most creative endeavor. In January 2010, John started the company from the ground up with a vision to gather young, talented, passionate people to create branded content that emphasizes storytelling and makes a lasting impact. John built the business one client at a time, and today, Mustache prospers as an award-winning creative powerhouse, touting clients such as Netflix, Google, USA Tourism, the New York Times and MTV.John honed his executive and creative skills from a lifetime of diverse experience. As a self-made force in the film business, John co-produced with greats like Leonardo DiCaprio, Alexander Payne, and Alfonso Cuaron on projects starring actors including Kristen Wiig, Paul Giamatti, Sean Penn, Liam Neeson, and Zooey Deschanel. John's career as a film producer created a solid foundation for John’s future plans. He learned the value of storytelling, the art of filmmaking, and the nuances of the overall creative process across a wide range of genres. Perhaps most important of all, John discovered the joy of working with young, creative talent – how to find these untapped sources of ingenuity, organize them into teams, motivate them, and build a fervent community capable of generating volumes of entertaining, dynamic content at scale.
