After a trip to Alaska, hiking the Mendenhall Glacier, I saw first hand how the effect of global warming is destroying the environment. I feel that it is our responsibility to protect the earth for this and future generations. Since 2007, the Mendenhall Glacier has lost almost 60% of its mass as it is melting. Instead of complaining about it too much, which is not my style, I returned to school to study Electrical Engineering at UNCC so I can be part of the development of an exciting new renewable energy source.
