I am an education specialist with ten years of experience with diverse student and teacher populations. I have worked in Title I schools, a National Blue Ribbon School, and as a graduate school instructor. Recently, I shifted from classroom instruction to classroom support as an education specialist for the Space Telescope Science Institute. I now focus on bringing the wonder, excitement, and beauty of the cosmos with the help of the Hubble Space Telescope to the public. This includes connecting with other education partners, organizing outreach events, and developing educational products for use by the public.Previously, I worked for Baltimore County Public Schools where I engaged students in rigorous instruction and supported my colleagues with my knowledge of teaching pedagogy in science, mathematics, and STEM. Colleagues know me as a highly creative marketer who can always be trusted to come up with a new approach. But I know that the client’s business comes first, and I never try to impose my ideas on others. Instead, I spend a lot of time understanding the business and the audience before suggesting ideas. I can (and often do) work well alone, but I’m at my best collaborating with others.I have a MA from Notre Dame of Maryland University and a BA from Towson University. I also have experience with information technology, database management, web design and testing, and program evaluation.
