This included developing a joined up alliance approach which involved organisations from the public, private and voluntary sectors. From this we were able to share priorities, avoid duplication of effort, pool resources, ensure the programmes which were commissioned as a part of Liverpool Active City were evidence based. Develop a communications plan which engaged with each of the partner organisations, as well as out to the public. This plan was targeted at those people who were inactive to encourage and enable them to take up an active lifestyle. Following on from the successes arising from the Liverpool Active City model the city started to receive international recognition. -
