For this autonomous subsidiary of Cigna, I design the technology, security, and business strategies to maintain a highly available, scalable, secure, and high-performing IT operation based on a private cloud model. As a key business partner, I collaborate with senior management to develop and implement initiatives aligned with organizational growth and continually improve security. My role includes managing a $1.5M budget, securing funding for projects and personnel, and negotiating with vendors to control costs. Additionally, I lead and motivate a 5-member IT/security team to peak performance levels, work cross-functionally with the applications team, direct technology innovation, and monitor, assess, and respond to cybersecurity threats. Key Accomplishments: ►Saved $950,000/year by creating the IT architecture for a claims management portal serving 1.8M Cigna members. Following Cigna's acquisition of Sagamore Health Network, I was retained to oversee the data center and security operations for Cigna Payer Solutions. This new company was formed by merging Sagamore with Indiana Health Network, another Cigna acquisition. Thriving in the ambiguity of the transition period, I quickly emerged as a business and technology leader with an increasingly responsible role in building the company. I also helped drive significant changes to the technology and culture that were necessary to support business growth. As a result, I was promoted to manager within 1 year. Key accomplishments: ►Facilitated business expansion generating millions in annual revenue.►Supported infinite enterprise growth, enabled Payer Solutions to remain an independent IT provider from Cigna corporate (providing faster, cheaper service), and honored contractual obligations for data protection. ►Saved $135,000 through a 70% software license reduction. ►Increased performance and reliability and decreased maintenance, cutting personnel required from 20 to 3 and reducing deployments of new machines from hours to minutes. ►Eliminated downtime during business hours for systems administration and maintenance.►Led a zero-downtime move of the data center to a new facility with no damage to the equipment or data loss.►Slashed expenses by closing 2 remote offices and migrating employees to secure B2B and work-at-home VPNs.

Before its acquisition by Cigna in 2008, Sagamore Health Network was a privately owned PPO serving 300,000 members and 36,000 providers. I was hired to administer the data center, network, and security and tasked with upgrading technologies and policies to support business growth. Key accomplishments: ►Developed and communicated 90% of the security policies and procedures for the data network. ►Significantly enhanced network security.►Reduced configuration errors 30%, eliminated network outages in 1 year, and substantially improved fax capabilities and performance.
