I also presented the technology status to the Board of Directors. Vocalocity is a Java, JavaScript, and Postgres environment.• Built a high performance staff from 11 employees to 25 to facilitate rapid company growth.• Improved system availability from hours of downtime per month to 99.95%.• Initiated a number of best practices including Agile (Scrum) development, high and detailed level requirements, project management (including risk analysis and mitigation), daily stand-ups, continuous builds, and peer and product owner reviews.• Implemented a load test environment to test Vocalocity’s systems to full production levels.• Migrated Vocalocity’s third party software tools to the latest versions. The company raised over $15 million in venture funding from Pequot Ventures, Kodiak Venture Partners and Aurora Funds. As CTO, I was responsible for all technology decisions and direction involving the company. Recordant was a Java, JavaScript, C++, and SQL Server environment.• Envisioned the concept for the company. Presented concept to investors raising the A and B rounds of funding ($15 million). Hired a CEO. Was a member of the Board of Directors.• Built a highly experienced staff of 17 engineers. Company employed over fifty people.• Developed a system that encompassed software as a service and hardware devices. This required directing and hands on development of software, firmware, hardware, and technicians, to produce the products.• Initiated a number of best practices including Agile (Scrum) development, high and detailed level requirements, project management (including risk analysis and mitigation), daily stand-ups, continuous builds, and peer and product owner reviews.• Facilitated the delivery of systems to U.S. Army, ADP, ATT, and others in the government, banking, finance, and retail sectors.• Company received the Herring 100 award from Red Herring for 2007 (one of only four recognized in the Southeast). Comprising of business-driven multimedia recording, performance analysis and e-learning management applications, the browser-based solution was designed to enhance the quality of customer interactions across multiple communications media, including the telephone, e-mail and Web. The closed-loop suite would enable companies to record, evaluate and analyze customer contacts, and then launch e-learning to develop staff, generate additional revenue, and achieve greater customer retention and loyalty. An integrated business consulting, implementation and training methodology provides services to support an effective, rapid deployment of the software that enabled organizations to maximize their return on investment.As CTO, I led technology development for a publically held company manufacturing call recording systems.Technologies included Java, C++, Oracle, and SQL Server.• Built an engineering staff from around 80 employees to over 130 to facilitate rapid company growth.• Witness Systems had not released any new products in over a year. Development group was on a “death march” to complete version 6 of their product. Turned around development group to releasing new versions of product every quarter. In first year, three additional products were released.• Initiated a number of best practices including Rapid development, high and detailed level requirements, project management (including risk analysis and mitigation), daily stand-ups, daily builds, and peer and product owner reviews. Reduced company’s technology stack.• Brought company’s IP fro one patent to more than a dozen.• Performed technology due diligence on several acquisitions and potential acquisitions for Witness.
