Recordant was the only provider of audio-capture technology solutions that generate actionable feedback from organizations’ face-to-face interactions with the public. Recordant also provided distributed telephony recording for widely dispersed enterprises. The company’s technology allows these interactions to be analyzed and processed automatically, ultimately providing significant improvements in customer service and standards compliance, while maximizing sales performance. The company raised over $15 million in venture funding from Pequot Ventures, Kodiak Venture Partners and Aurora Funds. As CTO, I was responsible for all technology decisions and direction involving the company. Recordant was a Java, JavaScript, C++, and SQL Server environment.• Envisioned the concept for the company. Presented concept to investors raising the A and B rounds of funding ($15 million). Hired a CEO. Was a member of the Board of Directors.• Built a highly experienced staff of 17 engineers. Company employed over fifty people.• Developed a system that encompassed software as a service and hardware devices. This required directing and hands on development of software, firmware, hardware, and technicians, to produce the products.• Initiated a number of best practices including Agile (Scrum) development, high and detailed level requirements, project management (including risk analysis and mitigation), daily stand-ups, continuous builds, and peer and product owner reviews.• Facilitated the delivery of systems to U.S. Army, ADP, ATT, and others in the government, banking, finance, and retail sectors.• Company received the Herring 100 award from Red Herring for 2007 (one of only four recognized in the Southeast). I was a finalist on the TechJournal South “Most Influential People in the Southeast Technology Community - 2007” and was nominated for the Ernst & Young “Entrepreneur of the Year - 2007”
