Cost of complaints reduced by over 40% in 12 months.- Development and implementation of new innovations designed to add value to the business, through reduced CO2, increased RAP usage, workability meters and new low temperature materials.- Introduction to Website of MQP Carbon Calculator to allow customers to estimate CO2 of various material options to their sites.- Quality liaison with Operations and Commercial departments on a weekly basis to maintain focus on continual improvement and a united drive for best value for MQP.- Representation on MPA Asphalt Technical Panel working with industry wide specification developments and liaison with government agencies.

Duntilland Quarry is a 24/7 operation, which produces 1.5 mtpa of Doleritic hard stone in the Central Belt of Scotland with which it supplies internal and external Asphalt, Concrete and Building Material products. Responsibility also encapsulates the sites Asphalt plant which produces approximately 200ktpa. My role included:• Responsibility for 35 direct employees, as well as the Health & Safety of the area office staff, a further 70 people. • Budget and Capital appraisals. • Communication on both a formal and informal basis with Commercial, Contracting and Concrete Departments, ensuring both product availability and prioritization especially when involved in major projects. • Involvement in liaison with outside bodies, such as The Scottish Executive, AIG (the company insurers), various Company Shareholders, Regulatory Bodies and other interested parties, as Duntilland is the Head Office for the Central Belt and Borders Area• Hosting a DuPont Safety Resources University, in 2006, where 33 delegates carried out audits over 4 days. This led to a site and company wide push on Visible Felt Leadership along with a successful review of the site improvements later in the year.
