Purpose of Position: To manage the creation of transport, drainage and foreshore assets including roads, footpaths, urban precincts, bikeways, public transport, drainage channels, stormwater pipes, flood structures, water quality devices, beaches, foreshores and waterways through Council's capital investment programs and the contribution of assets by developers, utilities and other entities.The Engineering Assets and Planning (EAP) Branch of Engineering Services (ES) Directorate provides planning and asset management for the city's transport, drainage and foreshore asset networks. As at 2010, the value of assets under EAP management was $4 billion and on an annual basis the EAP Branch was responsible for investing $135 million of capital funds, $46 million of operational funds and accepting $88 million of contributed assets.
