• Ensure appropriate procurement of raw materials, ranging from adhesives to hardware, needed for the production of ballistic helmet systems • Negotiate payments, schedules, and terms of government and commercial contracts • Serve as liaison between external vendors and internal departments such as engineering, warehousing, quality assurance, accounting, project management, and senior leadership • Adhere to standard operating procedures and government regulations to accomplish project deadlines and department objectives • Prepare bid comparison reports for the review of the Purchasing Manager and Director of Purchase to indicate how purchasing practices can be improved • Review Material Requirement Planning (MRP) signals on a daily basis to adjust the material expedites and deferrals with suppliers for timely delivery and inventory control• Knowledgeable with Federal Acquisition Regulation and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplements; as well as exercising Defense Priorities and Allocations Systems to prioritize national defense related contracts/ordersAs a valued team member in a leading global defense industry company, I spearhead the procurement operations for two of Gentex Corporation’s major helmet systems: the Enhanced Combat Helmet (ECH) and Future Assault Shell Technology (FAST). In order to achieve delivery deadlines and objectives, I effectively collaborate with both the external vendors and the internal project planners and program managers. In addition to commercial, I frequently place high-dollar Defense Priorities and Allocations System (DPAS) rated purchase orders and am well versed in all necessary government contact procedures such as FAR and DFARS. I also assisted in reducing inventory in June 2019 by $7MM.
