He put in place firewalls and other security systems and attained certifications to match his expertise. His responsibilities included managing a staff of five which annually rolled out a new 150 seat desktop configuration, built a training facility, set up remote LAN access via modem banks and VPN access, and installed a desktop faxing solution. Key to these activities was his ability to transform the information technology services of NEI into a strongly customer service focused area. -

He assisted in the building of the Department of Energy’s Environmental Management Computer Network for CRC and subsequently maintained and upgraded the network. Mr. McIntire monitored and resolved LAN problems on the network and assisted in the building of the Washington Region’s first Local Area Network for CRC. After nine months, Mr. McIntire was then promoted to Network Administrator at CRC’s L’Enfant Plaza office, the company’s flagship network and largest client site. He was responsible for seven offices in the area and three offices in the western US. He designed and managed the evolution of CRC’s LANs from a UNIX based environment to the latest Windows NT environment. In these roles, he has also supervised several employees and an internship program for the CRC Network Team.
