At that time I was leading the developer outreach and engagement programme for GSMA’s API product (application programming interface). John’s role was Programme Marketing Manager where he managed and executed marketing and communications activities for this product. The goal was to grow the ecosystem around the API product. John spearheaded several communication activities such as events, email campaigns, or white papers. One of the biggest successes that John significantly shaped was the planning and execution of the largest software developer event the GSMA ever had: WIPJam. This event itself included many parts such as a GSMA booth to represent the API product targeting developers, a workshop with a range of guest speakers and a hackathon. John was the main responsible person for event logistics, communications and booth design, planning, execution and logistics. Working with John was extremely effective and enjoyable. Three of John’s characteristics stand out: (1) Diligence: He has a very accurate attention to detail and executes his tasks very carefully. (2) Reliability: John and I had a great task split and he always delivered all his responsibilities on time and in quality. (3) Outstanding work ethic: John is an incredibly hard worker and is never shy to put in extra effort until the work is delivered in the best possible way. He also always showed a lot of passion and motivation, which is infectious and had a great effect on me and the morale of the team. I can only highly recommend John and would always want to work with him again. "
