Responsible for managing IT governance and Enterprise Project Management Office, driving strategy, planning, and operational oversight across all IT departments and objectives. Assumed responsibility for our enterprise-wide Information Security Program in 2009, with the primary focus on alignment of security teams, creation of the company’s Information Security Policy, establishing enterprise-wide security priorities, modernizing essential security controls, delivering advanced security capabilities, creating broad company awareness and engagement.

Provided interim leadership while the business unit completed organizational assessments and named the new permanent CIO. In brief tenure in this role, transformed the leadership team, rebuilt credibility and relationship with the business leaders, initiated programs to address architectural and system reliability issues, and established new operational and governance practices to manage priorities and financials.

Established new function focused on improving organizational alignment of the central IT services and departments. Implemented new IT governance model, facilitated annual strategy and planning, conducted quarterly operational reviews of results against objectives. Revised the Enterprise Project Management Office model, defining and implementing software development lifecycle standards and tools.

Responsible for delivery and support of all IT applications and services to the Commercial Insurance business unit. Restructured the IT delivery teams and established a new Business-IT governance model to ensure alignment and management of business priorities.

Responsible for IT program management of strategic efforts to reengineer Commercial Insurance Claims application portfolio. Included delivery of first B2B eCommerce capabilities with major commercial clients.

Responsible for developing enterprise-wide data standards and information management strategy. Included delivery of company’s first enterprise data model, data architecture, and data warehouse capabilities.
