We refined waste cooking oil from throughout campus into diesel fuel, which was used to help operate the campus bus system. My primary responsibilities was logistics. With a teammate, we were in charge of ensuring oil was picked up and fuel was distributed. While not the most technical role, I was in a unique position to lead in this area due to my athletic background and childhood work experience. A barrel of waste cooking oil can be 300 - 400 pounds, and is often covered in food particulates and grime. Being a high school football player and growing up working with livestock made me uniquely positioned amongst our team to handle this essential role. -
