With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, I am the CEO of the Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR), the leading voice of Bermuda's international insurers and reinsurers. I oversee ABIR's advocacy, public policy, and regulatory affairs, and represent its members in various international forums. I have a strong background in insurance regulation, having served as a partner at Dentons, the world's largest law firm, and as the president of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), where I was appointed to the U.S. Financial Stability Oversight Council and chaired several key committees and task forces. I also have extensive experience in underwriting, claims management, and reinsurance, having worked as a managing director at Swiss Re and a senior vice president at GE Insurance Solutions. I have a JD from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law, an MBA from Saint Louis University, and a B.S. in Business Administration from Southeast Missouri State University. I was also an adjunct professor at two law schools and a recipient of the Bermuda Risk Transfer Hall of Fame award. My mission is to promote Bermuda's role as a global leader in risk management and innovation, and to foster a collaborative and inclusive culture within ABIR and the wider insurance community. I am passionate about advancing the interests of ABIR's members and stakeholders, and enhancing the resilience and sustainability of the insurance sector.
