Served as the senior logistician within the organization responsible for integrated logistical support (ILS) to all major exercises and training events; ILS included marshaling and transporting on average 350 exercise participants from/to multiple airports to/from exercise locations, the feeding/bed down and general supplies for the exercise duration, maintenance of equipment, camp configuration, building management and force protection. Also provided direct oversight and coordination for individual and functional area training for a 450 member organization. Hand selected while in this position to serve as NATO’s sole liaison officer for five months at the United States Army Central Command Headquarters (Tampa Florida), and a five month combat deployment to Afghanistan (once again as NATO’s sole liaison officer) to the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Headquarters in Kabul. While in Afghanistan, personally led five reconnaissance missions to all five regional headquarters in the combat zone; reports and intelligence were pushed to the highest command levels in both NATO and the U.S. Defense Department.

Hand selected and deployed to Afghanistan as the executive officer to the NATO Transition Office in Kandahar working the transfer of authority of the country’s second largest airport from U.S. control to NATO (and command of its 11,000 personnel and equipment valued at more than $24 million). Other deployments included earthquake relief support to Pakistan in 2005 and to Cape Verde in 2006.
