Business Analyst (Retail Sector) • Interrogating business operational and financial performance processes, procedures, risk and reporting to recommend practical value adding commercial solutions.• Analysis of business and customer performance, including KPI’s by contract and site.• Budget and Capex request preparation and operations support to both start-up and existing contracts.PRINCIPAL ACHIEVEMENTS• Reviewed transport and trunking operation and identified cost savings of £600k p.a.• Identified and corrected overstatement of P&L costs of £418.2k net and balance sheet of £31.0k.• Designed and implemented weekly warehouse labour efficiency monitoring and reporting based on standard minute values, rolling it out to Warehouse Team Leaders, Supervisors and General Managers across three home delivery sites.• Project managed warehouse and transport team to enable exit of 2,600 lines of Returns (RTM) within 8 weeks as the site was being demolished.• Designed and implemented budget and period management reporting models across 8 sites, incorporating KPI’s, SLA's and reducing reporting deadlines from up to 9 weeks to 3 days.• Reconciliation of asset management account of £21m p.a. back to 2002 and subsequent transfer of aged debt back to customer.

• Monthly and weekly budgeting, forecasting, management accounts, profit and loss reports and consolidation of 8 open book recycling and recovery units (RRU’s) and Head Office costs.• Variance analysis and KPI reporting of 4 weekly accounts, actual versus budget and forecast and presentation to RDC General Managers and Head Office.• Reconciling and reporting of customer billing, asset management account and aged debt.• Reconciliation of fixed asset register and crate register with an asset/leased base of £42m • Review of ROI and control over start-up capital expenditure across 7 sites.

Warehousing, distribution and value added services for the Pharmaceutical and Retail sectors. Customers including SmithKline Beecham, Roche, Janssen Cilag, Somerfield both dry and wet bond, Tesco and Kraft Jacobs Suchard.• Monthly/yearly Budgeting, open book statements, management accounts, profit and loss, cash-flow, working capital and balance sheet reports for three sites.• Supervision and control of ten customer sales order processing customers • Fixed asset control and authorisation including responsibility for controlling capital expenditure following expansion into a new 121,000 square foot facility.• Preparation of year end accounts and liaison with internal and external auditors.

The U.K. Materials Division supplies Microsilica based admixtures for the construction, oil well and building industries in the U.K. and European Continent. Reporting to Managing Director in the U.K. and Financial Controller in Kristiansand, Norway, my main responsibilities included:• Monthly and yearly budgeting, management accounts, profit and loss and balance sheet cash flow statements and product costing for the U.K. and Europe.• Cash management and control of three multi-currency bank accounts and coordination of a cash pooling facility on four GBP accounts in England, Norway and Netherlands.• All matters relating to VAT registration in the U.K., Netherlands and Germany.• Preparation of statutory accounts for Elkem Limited (Materials) and liquidation of Elkem Materials S/A (France).• Stock reconciliation in the UK and Europe across 5 depots in Hull, Thames Matex, Rotterdam, Dunkerque and Allensbach.• Trustee and pension fund administrator to the Elkem Limited Pension and Life Assurance Scheme.
