Responsible for actively informing command of identified training risks to the organisation and liaison with all groups within NZDF and external agencies relating to training for the successful on time delivery of training outputs to customers; thereby ensuring personnel qualifications were current and that RNZAF airworthiness and compliance was maintained at all times
Safety Investigation Engineer
Safety Investigation Engineers are responsible to the Manager Quality and Manager Safety Investigations for the day-to-day administration of the Safety Management System (SMS) by carrying out investigative functions, risk management, occurrence reporting and notification, regulatory compliance, operator liaison, provision of technical/strategic advice to operational divisions to ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations. Safety Investigation Engineers plan, prepare and conduct investigations and investigation reporting in accordance with company policy. During an investigation the factual sequence of events are determined and analytical risk assessments carried out (environment, organisational, human factors, safety data) to identify trend(s) in order to prevent recurrence (corrective actions). Upon investigation report acceptance the report is then distributed to the business and customer. During the final stage of the process it is the Safety Investigation Engineers responsibility to manage and support the operational division(s) by monitoring and facilitating the closing out of the associated corrective actions.
