I also help to push best practices in design and deployment of databases that support custom applications.

At Farm Credit, I am responsible for the support and future redesign of an existing database. This redesign process will encounter new and exciting technologies as we are moving from a client based application to a web based application. This re-design includes new stored procedures, new tables, views, user security, jobs, SSIS packages. This project also utilized the Agile Methodology in both the database development as well as the web development.

As a leader of the Omaha SQL/BI User group, I work with another colleague to coordinate various sponsors, facilities, and speakers for our bi-monthly meetings. We just celebrated 3 years in December 2010 and am looking forward to up coming years!

At Q2 Innovations, I work with my business partner in order to locate and secure new investment opportunities. These opportunities range from business acquisitions, investing in other businesses, and various needs on a client by client basis.

I am currently making modifications to a resource allocation application that MSI has. MSI wanted some additional workflow functionality to the application. I am using Lotus Formula and Lotus Script to accomplish this task.

As Lead Database Operations DBA, I am tasked in all things operational database related, including helping to manage a team of off-shore resources, develop and implement backup strategies, database standards, and to ensure that my client's SQL Server infrastructure is running at peak performance.

As a consultant with Sogeti, I am responsible in providing our clients with technology solutions to their issues. These solutions revolved around database administration, database development, IT Help Desk support as well as some project management.

I am currently tasked to assist the team in moving from SQL 2000 to SQL 2008. I am working with Windows Server 2008 cluster with a SQL 2008 cluster on top of it. I also am responsible for imlementing database mirroring & log shipping for their business critical database. I also helped to implement some development changes (indexes, refactored stored procedures, etc) to help improve the performance of the existing database.I am also configuring IIS web servers in the creating of a new vertical web Silo for one of the existing applications. This envolves web configuration files, IIS web site configurations, application pools, working with .NET frameworks, putting DLL files into the Global Assembly Cache (GAC), and performance monitoring.

At Farm Credit, I was responsible for the redesign of an existing database to coenside with the replatforming of an existing web application. This re-design included new stored procedures, new tables, views, user security, jobs, SSIS packages. This project also utilized the Agile Methodology in both the database development as well as the web development.

While at Vertrue, I was responsible for the daily SQL administration of multiple SQL servers which were located in remote areas. I also help to facilitate deployments of new database code in Production and helped to resolve any production issues. I also planned, tested, and implemented a migration project of ActiTime from a mySQL database to Microsoft SQL Server.

Spent 2 years working on the consulting side of the house, working with clients on how to implement and/or improve their Lotus Domino environment. Moved internally to the IT Department to help support the entire MSI team. This included a wide range of tasks, including server support, end user support, application development (Lotus), and project management.

Provided end users support at all levels, ranging from network trouble shooting, software support of standard applications and hardware support. Towards the end of my term at Mutual of Omaha, I was in charge of distribution of the Remote Access (RAS) documentation, distribution and tracking.
