John Moreland is the Founder of PICS/Avetta. John is a Safety professional and seasoned executive for over 25 years. John started his safety career in Law Enforcement followed by occupational safety in the oil and gas industry where he gained his experience and knowledge of trade work. After obtaining this field experience John worked for several construction companies where his responsibilities included managing the health, safety and environmental aspects of the business as well as a specialized focus on claims management and training. John Moreland is an entrepreneur, investor and strategist. In 2003, John founded PICS, a supplier compliance software firm. He and his team worked tirelessly to build an exceptional company—one that they love, and are passionate about. Under John’s leadership as CEO, PICS acquired thousands of the largest firms in the world as customers (including BP, American Airlines, John Deere, ExxonMobil and Goodyear) and created the critical infrastructure that powered the industry-wide shift to a compliance based supplier marketplace. John profitably bootstrapped the company for its first nine years of operations and created the fastest growing supplier prequalification company in the world. John was responsible for the raising of both a minority, 35 million in venture capital from top-tier Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) in December of 2012 and an additional 25 million round in 2015. In 2018, Avetta, which was founded by John, was acquired by WCAS for $531M. John is heavily involved with Operation Underground Railroad (O.U.R.), which is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to rescuing children around the world who are victims of sex slavery and assisting law enforcement in the prosecution of trafficking offendersJohn, his wife Amber and their 6 kids are focused on spending as much family time together as possible.
