Directing a world class education and technology team. Creating and proving the eco-system with a very diverse community at the Urbana Champaign campus.

Responsible for leading the startup, VenueNext on a mission to set a new and much higher standard for live event experiences for both fans and venue operators. VenueNext is the company behind the Levi’s® Stadium app, a context-aware app that for the first time connects fans with everything the venue has to offer. VenueNext’s platform unifies the venue infrastructure ecosystem giving venue owners access to an entirely new suite of sophisticated software tools and services that enhance business.

Responsible for bringing the best game day experience to fans as they attend events at the new Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara. Through partnerships with local, national, and international technology providers, the stadium will be a showcase for innovation in Silicon Valley. Featuring stadium-wide WiFi capability, mobile connectivity, IPTV, and colossal HD video boards measuring over 13,000 square feet.

Responsible for Product and Engineering, created Sling TV, a consumer streaming service bringing live popular US and International channels to US based audiences. Integrated the Blockbuster acquisition into Dish Network during this time as well.

Responsible for Product and Engineering. Created the first award winning integrations of the Slingbox with DISH Network receivers. Created the first Dish Anywhere services.

Helped Anthony Wood determine strategy and direction of Roku audio and video businesses. Created RadioRoku using installed base of Roku devices and crowdsourcing to create the worlds best internet radio service.

Merged my company with Simple Star, Inc. Integrated products of the two companies and helped integrate the employees of OurPictures with those of Simple Star.

Founded OurPictures, Inc., a peer to peer photo sharing service. Distributed the products with retail partner Ritz Camera. Built subscriber base and then merged with Simplestar, Inc to improve both companies prospects in a crowded photo sharing marketplace.

Joined AOL with the merger of Netscape. The server division, of which I was General Manager was sold to SUN Microsystems for $1B. I remained at AOL, created a new AOL Products group using many of the best and brightest from Netscape. Continued to build the group acquiring various start-ups in Silicon Valley. With these teams we built many of the online services for AOL, and CompuServe.

Grew the server business with both organic growth and acquisition of leading silicon valley startups. Acquired startups in the calendar, email, music, application server, and wallet categories. Maintained a high retention rate of top talent from these acquisitions with an innovative organizational structure. Led the organization until the AOL merger and subsequent purchase of the division by Sun Microsystems.

Responsible for Product, Engineering, Customer Service and Business Development. Furthered the adoption of the award winning Banyan Vines network operating system to large enterprises. Created award winning Switchboard.com, the first people and business directory online. Sold a minority interest in Switchboard to AOL.

Responsible for Compaq server integration with industry standard operating systems including, Unix, Windows NT, Novell Netware, and Banyan Vines. Created and launched Smart Start, distributing industry standard operating systems with Compaq servers. Bringing a simpler way to install a properly configured server and insure that reliable, tested, third party devices added to the open system operated properly. Business quickly grew to $100M software distribution business and helped Compaq grow it server marketshare to more than 45%.

Responsible for Research and Development with multiple locations in the United States. Came to Siemens through the merger with Nixdorf Computer where I was President of Nixdorf Computer Engineering Corp. During my time at Nixdorf I was loaned to the Open Software Foundation where I ran development during the first year of the Foundation's existence.

Created a business selling CCA Emacs, a version of the popular Emacs text editor for programmers. Expanded the business by porting the application to various Unix platforms of the day.

Responsible for Engineering at one of the first CASE based software engineering product companies. Created Unix and VMS based versions of USE.IT which used static and dynamic analysis of specifications and generated source code that was more reliable than hand written software.
