Employment Specialist: Greeted new and existing clients when they arrived to the centre, explained services and answered inquiries regarding various workshops and programs available. Some included Employment Ontario Programs such as; Second Career, Apprenticeships, OSEB (Ontario Self Employment Benefit), and TIOW (Targeted Initiative for Older Workers).Completed initial assessment to assist clients in determining next steps which could have included; independent job search using resource area, connection with duty/employment counsellor, and/or registering clients for various workshops. Provided clients with information about local and provincial labour markets as well as community services. Recorded and/or updated pertinent client information into CTS (Client Tracking System). Assisted clients in the Resource and Information area by answering questions regarding formatting of job search documents, computer programs and Internet. Also assisted clients with photocopying, scanning, faxing, email and phone usage.Facilitator:Created, designed and customized workshop material and reviewed regularly to ensure it was meeting the needs of the clients (based on program requirements, LMI (Labour Market Information), current trends, local employment, etc.) Engaged and motivated adult learners by utilizing a variety of teaching methods and materials designed to appeal to the different learning styles. Delivered an average of three, two to three hour workshops/weekly.
