My role is to support the over 2000 Digby Stuart College students in our community. I gained skills in community organising, risk management, efficient knowledge of management structures at university (non-academic departments in particular), and time and project management.

Doctor Caroline Sharples is a historian of modern German history, specifically histories of National Socialism, the second world war and the holocaust. I assisted Caroline on research for a book on the allied perceptions of the death of Adolf Hitler and its relations to modern conspiracies questioning if Hitler is or was alive or lived past 1945. Caroline asked me to amass research from primary sources to find information that could corroborate or provide fresh perspectives into the thoughts of individuals from both WWII and the post-war period. I gained knowledge on how to effectively use archives and improved my project management skills. My responsibilities included the following - Creating a research schedule for myself that included both in-person and online research Going to the British Library’s Newsroom on a repeat basis to analyse newspapers found on Microfilm from both the post-war and WWII periods Compiling research in an organized manner, separated by: publication, date, edition and page number, into a large resource document. Assessing my progress at the end of each day to guide my research for the following day, and ordering new materials ahead of time accordingly.
