Presented our proof-of-concept system to several potential investors but the venture capitalists weren't investing, so instead turned to strategic partners and potential re-sellers to obtain funding. Implemented the system at test sites in three states, analyzed and adjusted the program to build a compelling business case and then used that data to sell licenses to major technology companies that produced point-of-sale equipment for the target market.Within 24 months, the three top manufacturers representing more than 90% of all gasoline dispenser sales were doing business with Alki Networks. The world leader - Gilbarco Veeder Root - acquired the company in December in 2003.
