Growing up on a farm in Colorado I learned the value of hard work and stick-to-it-ness. I weeded fields from sunup to sundown, checked irrigation water at 2:00am, and slopped hogs (rain or shine) twice a day. I don’t remember ever not knowing how to drive a tractor. The work was hard but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I have been involved in material handling for a very long time, starting at a very young age helping my Father in a produce warehouse repairing and building our own produce sorters, sorting out different size onions and potatoes.In ‘86 I started work full time at Monfort Beef and went to school at night to get a two-year degree in electronics. In '90 I transferred to maintenance as a technician. My responsibilities included repairing, maintaining and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems, as well as scales, scanners, and other electronic equipment.A 14 million dollar Alvey system was installed at Monfort in ‘93 and I was highly involved with this project from installation to commissioning and beyond. I was the lead technician in charge of maintaining the entire system. In ‘95 I was hired by Alvey and started there in customer service and worked my way up to Controls Engineer. I was with Alvey/FKI Logistex until March 2008 when I started with Diamond Phoenix as a Controls Engineer. In February 2011 I accepted a position as Sr Controls Engineer with Intelligrated. In 2018 I joined the team at Dematic. In the years since '95 I have been involved in projects for various companies such as: beef and pork packaging plants, chocolate manufactures, fortune 500 paper manufactures, e-commerce, and soda bottlers. I have worked on very small jobs to multi-million dollar integrated systems. The equipment I have worked on includes but is not limited to: case and pallet conveyor, case sorters, palletizers, and carousels. I work very well in a team and have been a highly requested individual to be a part of many.I have worked in Mexico, Canada, Australia, as well as all over the USA.
