Security Shift Manager
CurrentAs a Security Shift Manager I have provided security aimed at preventing the theft of special nuclear material at the PSEG Nuclear site. This includes managing security personnel, and ensuring the execution of operations and maintenance within the specifications of the Security Plan, Code of Federal Regulations, and approved procedures.Other responsibilities include the execution of an internal communications plan and the management of industrial and employee relations. I collaborate with multiple workgroups, engage with key stakeholders such as the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), and facilitate excellence in day-to-day shift operations for the Nuclear Security Department. Additionally. I provide support to the Security Shift Operations Manager in daily security operations, and assist the team with equipment, operational, and or regulatory issues as needed.An important element of the role is to execute revisions to procedures, and to update the Security POD, ensuring that security equipment issues are appropriately prioritized and acted upon in a timely manner. I also interface with various departments to identify the appropriate work owners, coordinate security support, and drive issues to resolution to ensure equipment reliability.I support Security Management by attending project meetings, and by revising procedures impacted by projects. I also perform Manager Observations of Training (MOT), and contribute actively to the Fundamental Management System (FMS) by observing field activities and providing feedback.Addition duties involve participation in the Guardmount Presence program to improve communications between Management and Security teams, and addressing various logistics issues such as the implementation and tracking of the vehicle preventive maintenance program.
