Member of core delivery team of the first ever global citizens' assembly. KNT are a subsidiary company of the University of Glasgow who provide commercial nanofabrication solutions to a wide array of customers from other universities and research institutes to small and large companies around the world. Please note that in the last 18 months of this employ I actually left to pursue other interests and returned on two occasions for a number of months, once as a contractor and once again as a regular employee.Following 15 months as a post doc on secondment to KNT I joined them as a full time employee. I continued to work on a range of commercial projects and was involved in an EU research project QUANTiheat focused on the further development of thermal AFM probes.

In this role I worked working directly on a range of commercial projects (through a secondment to Kelvin Nanotechnology Ltd.) which greatly expanded my nanofabrication experience, particularly in dry etch and general knowledge of materials. Through both extensive lab work and project management responsibilities I adapted well to the pressures of commercial work and became more efficient in the lab and office. I also retained active involvement in a research group, continuing to work on injection moulder tooling solutions as well as training, publishing and collaborating with other group members.

Solar & Wind is a small company which provides domestic scale renewable energy products and services to a range of public and private customers. In this role I worked with other engineering graduates and tradesmen to design solutions, organise jobs and install and service wind turbines, solar photovoltaic panels, ground source heat pumps and off-grid battery systems.More recently I redesigned their website, although this has since be succeeded by a more professional effort.
