Visa Debit Uk/Po Project

Continuing on from my work on the BOI VISA Debit Card Project for ROI, I am now working on the development of VISA Debit Card products for both the BOI GB/NI Business & the UK Post Office as part of the BOI Debit Card Programme. It is a response to a further emerging opportunity for BOI to improve its customer proposition, increase revenues, improve card security and expand its current debit card estate to include BOI customers in NI/GB and the UK Post Office.

The Gemalto Bridge project will create a transmission platform between BOI & its new Card Production partner, Gemalto. The project will involve working alongside IBM & BT to establish both Test & Live data transfer lines between BOI & Gemalto, which will allow the secure transfer of Card files, download & despatch rpts between the 2 parties. I am also involved in agreeing the cryptographic keys design for the exchange of encryption key elements between BOI & Gemalto. This will allow Gemalto personalise the BOI Card files to the exact BOI specifications.

The Tsys DeClick project was a cost saving initiative that involves several different platforms within BOI. I am co-ordinating the interaction between each of the area's involved (Mainframe, Integration hub, IVR & Middleware service). I was also responsible for the planning, budgeting & reporting for the project.

The development of the BOI VISA Debit Card is an integral part of BOI's Debit Card Programme. It is a response to an emerging opportunity for BOI to improve its customer proposition, increase revenues, improve card security and expand its current debit card estate to include almost the entire Personal Current Account segment. Following detailed consideration, BOI Consumer Banking has concluded that partnering with an established international card scheme was a better route to its commercial goals than relying on substantial and time-bound investment by Irish banks i.e. to jointly re-develop Laser. A tender process identified VISA as the preferred card partner for BOI.

Technical lead on the Group IT Debit programme involved in upgrading our Chip functionality in preparation for a new DR Card offering from BOI.

Project Manager of an Anti-Fraud initiative within Bank of Ireland, specifically targetting DR Card fraud.

Worked within the ATM & Cards team on various projects using the knowledge that I had gained while working on the Card Design for the Post Office project previously.

Systems Expert for the MIS/BKK elements involved with the new Post Office Joint Venture project. I started with the MIS/BKK Systems and then began detailed design of the ATM & Cards solution for the Post Office Joint Venture.
