I developed and drove business development strategies across business units in to the Auto and Commercial Vehicle space, focusing on Hybrid/Electrification and Sensing. I did this by aligning the organization to the realities of serving the automotive market, using my deep expertise on the many aspects of serving the industry in a profitable and sustainable way.

Whilst at Methode I identified new technologies to acquire or license to enhance the company's portfolio and support move from legacy to new technology products.I did this by identifying multiple technology partners and assessing their fit to our markets, then leading business plan, investment and license agreements. Subsequently I would then lead product plan and execution strategies, and manage resources for sales, manufacturing, supply chain and product development. This resulted in funded development programs with several global OEMs as they seek to bring in new, differentiating technologies and features.

I was recruited by Methode as a recognized leader in vehicle safety electronics to lead the Engineering and Business Development activities for Company's safety electronics business, a multi-million dollar business that was looking to solidify and sustain their position.To enable this I developed a Safety System Technology Roadmap to identify areas of opportunity for the Company, a benchmarking system to evaluate business cases, led on-going projects in Drowsy Driver detection, Occupant sensing and Crash sensing including testing and evaluation at OEM and Tier 1 Customers, all the while ensuring the current business ran smoothly and continued to satisfy our customers.

Trico Electronics were a leading supplier of lighting control electronics. The business was trying to diversify due to technology evolution and were engaged in developing active safety and motor control solutions to provide a path for the future. Given my experience in the industry they hired me to lead Sales and Business Development globally.During my tenure I led the team to instigate significant improvements to program management processes and documentation applicable to safety products, secured multiple development programs, and by acting proactively and confidently based on research and data, secure improved terms and profitability on their existing business.

Breed Technologies hired me as an application engineer to serve the expanding European market, based in the UK. Over a period of 10 years I progressed through various management roles and locations, culminating in leadership of the electronics/sensing business unit. During my time the company consistently saw the value I was able to bring to the organization, and I was able to grow with them as they went from $45 million in sales to over $1 billion.Some of my many achievements at the company include developing crash sensor and occupant sensor electronics, leading large international teams of engineers, program managers, sales and marketing and other support functions in complex production programs, managing relationships with a Siemens JV, and ensuring we grew profitably across a broad base of customers.

Jaguar Cars at the time recruited about 50 college graduates each year from several thousand applicants. This was a dream job for me, developing and validating powertrain electronics for some of the world’s best cars. I proved my value at Jaguar by becoming an expert in diagnosing and fixing developmental and production issues, developing and validating systems including ECUs, CAN, SCP, OBD and being selected as the manufacturing representative for all electrical systems on the critical X300 launch.
