I led a team of motivated young adults into environments and situations where daily rhythm and goals were established and implemented. The primary template that I worked from included strategic planning, networking, implementing new programs, creative problem solving, and asking questions. I gained experience working in uncertain environments where structure and opportunities needed to be discovered. Meeting people over lunch and finding out what they are looking for became a passion of mine.

I was given the opportunity to work on a $15,000,000 project and was forced to hit the ground running. I was responsible for holding subcontractors responsible for their waste and organized a site-wide clean up initiative over the course of a summer. The most important thing I learned was that I could not work in an environment where negative motivation is the primary way of getting results.

Working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment taught me how to strive for excellence in the workplace because other people are depending on my speed and precision in everything from running the drive-thru to cleaning and closing the store two to four times a week. I learned a lot by watching my managers work and how they handled motivational and disciplinary responsibilities which set me up well in forming the type of man I wanted to strive to become during high school.
