Professional Biography: John L. Paluszek John Paluszek is executive editor of “Business In Society”, reporting and analyzing major social issues and business addressing them via corporate social responsibility/sustainable development (CSR/SD). Past chair of The Global Alliance For Public Relations and Communication Management and past national president of The Public Relations Society of America, John was liaison to The United Nations for those organizations for four years.In 1971 he founded John Paluszek & Associates/Corporate Social Action, a public relations firm specializing in CSR/SD. His public relations counseling career included three decades as an executive at Ketchum, a global public relations firm.In 1988 he was a principal speaker at the First East-West Public Relations Dialogue in Vienna and a participant in the U.S. Information Agency Moscow and Washington D.C. meetings with Soviet communicators.Later, he was a member of Accrediting Committee of the Accrediting Council For Education in Journalism and Mass Communications and was co-chair of The Commission on Public Relations Education.The recipient of the PRSA 2010 Atlas Award for lifetime achievement in international public relations and other professional awards, he has lectured on CSR/SD and public relations at many U.S. and foreign universities and business conferences - most recently, in his April, 2019 address, "Capitalism Under Fire: Is CSR the New Business Model?" (Harvard Club of New York City).A former journalist, his many commentaries have been published in business and academic journals including Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and Journalism Studies His 1970s seminal books on CSR, “Organizing For Corporate Social Responsibility” and “Will The Corporation Survive?”, anticipated and accelerated the CSR/SD business model.In 2014, he co-edited "Public Relations Case Studies from Around The World" and in September 2021 he self-published the online free book, "Global Public Relations in the Roiling Twenty Twenties - Confronting Disinformation, Serving a Sustainable Society".His "American Journey" multi-generational memoir tells of his family's immigration from Poland and good fortune in America.John is a graduate of Manhattan College (B.A. in labor management), was a trustee of the college and was awarded a Manhattan College honorary degree, Doctor of Humane Letters. In May 2023, the college established a School of Liberal Arts John L. Paluszek '55 First Generation Student of Excellence Scholarship.A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he now resides in Westbury, N.Y.
