It applied advanced quantitative and analytical scientific methods to enhance programs and included model and simulation of the system in both unconventional and conventional warfare scenarios. It assessed the performance and effectiveness of this new and substantially modified force concept (when compared to the legacy force). This study informed the Secretary of Defense allowing him to determine investment levels for this multi-billion dollar program.Served as the team leader in charge of the evaluation of the Army’s modular brigade and division force redesign. This effort sought to fine tune the force structure after evaluation of its effectiveness to meet mission requirements. The evaluation included live exercises in the National Training Center as well as an evaluation of 3rd Infantry division in Iraq. It required the application of quality management principles to resolve problems and provides solutions to advance program efforts. This refined a force structure that could better the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Served as the military officer in the TRADOC Analysis Center (TRAC) Methods and Research Office. The office was responsible for helping TRAC advance its ability to apply advanced actuarial science, operations research, mathematics, statistics, data analysis and modeling and simulation to better plan, initiate, and assess major developmental studies. Accomplishments included publication of the Joint Model and Analysis Working Group report that defined DoD wide capabilities to model and analyze joint operations and establishment of a baseline to accurately model dense vegetative areas in tactical models and simulation.
