Head weekly lab stations for the IHP’s OTD Program, including topics such as manual muscle testing, range of motion testing, activity analysis, dynamometry, balance, and more. Act as grader for MMT and ROM competencies. Summer 2022OT 770: Occupational Therapy in Mental Health. Grade and provide feedback on weekly virtual mental health groups; provide feedback on weekly assignments; lead lectures on cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy.

Kimberly Erler, PhD, OTR/L: OT-770 Occupational Therapy in Mental Health. Prepared lecture materials, graded assignments and responded to discussion posts, presented lectures on cognitive & dialectical behavioral therapy, assisted-as-needed and provided ongoing feedback during live lectures for a class size of 36 OTD students.

Working with a multidisciplinary team to design and test novel rehabilitation soft robotics in the Biodesign Lab.

-On the Behavioral Health Unit, performed evaluations and assessments (MOCA, OTAPS, substance-use assessment); planned and led psychoeducational, occupation-based, and other life-skills groups; managed a 1-to-1 caseload of 36 adult patients with a wide variety of psychiatric conditions. Implemented a variety of patient-centered intervention including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness, substance use and recovery, sensory coping skills, communication skills, relaxation techniques, and stress management.-In-services Provided: • 2 Patient Case Studies • 1 Occupation-Based Peer-Reviewed Publication-Project: Healthy Intimate Relationships – Patient Education Binder

-On the Rehabilitative Services Unit, provided skilled occupational therapy services and evaluations for a caseload of approx. 40 older adults in a fast-paced inpatient environment during the COVID-19 pandemic. Diagnoses included CVA, PD, SCI, musculoskeletal, and medically complex. -Completed a draft of a manuscript for a scoping review analyzing the combined effects of robot-assisted therapy and task-oriented training on functional performance after stroke using Covidence-Co-created a REDCap database, conducted thematic coding on interviews for project: Identifying Factors that Influence Adherence to Client-Centered Home Programs-Developed a Virtual Regulatory Binder and REDCap database for ongoing clinical trial: A Paradigm Shift – Rehabilitation Robotics, Cognitive Skills Training, and Function after Stroke

-Susan Fasoli, ScD, OTR/L: Assisted with clinical trial A Paradigm Shift: Rehabilitation Robotics, Cognitive Skills Training, and Function after Stroke including participant recruitment and phone screening of approximately 50 individuals, data input, creation of REDCap database & virtual regulatory binder, creation & implementation of therapist fidelity checklist, preparation of study forms, participant scheduling, and handling of Amadeo and Armeo Spring robots.-Paolo Bonato, PhD: Assisted with video coding of compensatory movements during robot-assisted therapy for patients with stroke, screened participants for study eligibility.

Organized 2 annual science expos and marches; implemented novel educational programming in local elementary schools including Spirit of Science and Meet a Scientist.

-As Project Head, lead a team of undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctoral students on multiple studies researching pharmacological interventions for cocaine, methamphetamine, and opioid use disorders. -Mentored and trained personnel on study-specific protocols, surgical techniques; prepared for inspections; analyzed data using SPSS and PRISM; presented protocol amendments to IACUC; presented or was included on 11 conference poster presentations/talks; co-authored two empirical publications.

Lab Manager at the University of Michigan Institute for Social Research in the Interdisciplinary Program on Empathy and Altruism Research Lab, under the direction of Dr. Sara Konrath. My duties included contributing to publications, literature reviews, reading through manuscripts for a meta-analysis, mentoring an undergraduate student, preparing materials for conferences, and other administrative duties. Interdisciplinary Program on Empathy and Altruism Research Lab (iPEAR): Assisted in the preparation, setup, and running of multiple research studies on empathy, narcissism, and altruism. Duties included literature reviews, plasma extraction, use of biofeedback equipment, data input/analysis using SPSS, poster preparation, and research dissemination.

Participated as a summer research intern in the Amgen Scholars Program at the University of Washington in Dr. Horacio de la Iglesia's lab. Research focused on the role of circadian rhythms in generating rhythmic physiological and behavioral outputs to adapt to the temporal structure of the environment using animal models. Duties included data input using MATLAB, animal handling, in situ hybridization, general lab duties, and research dissemination.

Worked as a summer research apprentice at the University of Washington in St. Louis. Duties included analyzing MRI imaging using FreeSurfer programming for people with Alzheimer's Disease vs. control participants, conducting neuropsychological testing, and research dissemination.
