After tripling division sales, which accounted for nearly half of the company’s overall revenue, I was promoted to Group Manager of Earle’s Reconstruction and Resurfacing Division. As head of the division, I am working directly with ownership and am now responsible for long term development. In addition to my duties as a Project Manager, my new role includes customer relationship management, balancing the division’s project portfolio, representing the company in litigious disputes, and staffing projects. Additionally, I am responsible for the team structure, from recruiting to ongoing employee development and retention. At the completion of the Garden State Parkway project, I was promoted to Project Manager of the Milling and Paving division. This division focused on high tonnage resurfacing projects for the NJDOT, NJ Turnpike Authority, Airports, and Counties. At Earle, Project Managers are expected to both bid and build projects, meaning accountability is maintained through the lifecycle of a job. Bidding includes cost estimating of self-performed work scopes, measuring risk due to constructability concerns, analyzing competitors, setting prices, and projecting cash flows. Building covers cost tracking, labor force scheduling, change order negotiation, specification interpretation, and value engineering. Ultimately, I was responsible for the price, cost, and by extension, profitability of my projects.

Began working with Earle Asphalt Company during the final semester of my undergraduate degree. Was the sole Project Engineer on the Garden State Parkway P300.198 Interchange 88 Improvements Project, the company’s largest project at the time. Worked closely with the Project Manager and was responsible for cost tracking through HCSS HeavyJob, supervision of internal and subcontracted field crews, and documentation control including RFIs, shop drawings, and Change Orders. Also acted as the Site Safety Officer by giving daily safety presentations and recording weekly toolbox talks. This cross-functional position taught me how to manage a project from both an operational and financial perspective.

Paired with the New Jersey Turnpike Authority after being awarded the Construction Industry Advancement Program (CIAP) Scholarship. During the summer internship, gained onsite experience on multiple heavy civil projects along both the Garden State Parkway and NJ Turnpike. Responsibilities included assisting the Resident Engineer with field measurements, checking contractor submittals for specification compliance, and material testing. This internship expanded my network and understanding of the heavy civil road work landscape in New Jersey.

Worked as a plumber during high school and college performing rough and finish work in residential and commercial buildings. Practiced all aspects of plumbing including carpentry, pipefitting, soldering, and general repairs. This hands-on introduction to the construction field complemented the knowledge gained in school.
