John worked on a variety of projects under various professors over a two year period. He developed high resolution landcover maps for Hall County, Georgia using LiDAR and Object-Based Image Analysis (OBIA) methods and characterized residential greenspace access using the same data. He digitized, georectified, and orthorectified a collection of historical aerial imagery of North Georgia, tracking the changes in landcover as a result of the construction of Buford Dam. He used historic and contemporary aerial and satellite imagery to measure island erosion in Lake Lanier. And worked closely with humanities scholars in applying geographic information systems software to a literary analysis.
