2008-2018 Engineering Tech CATV R&D Work with new products from customer concept thru the transfer to production. Worked with design engineers and mechanical engineers on development of new product designs including fiber optic 1550nm Ex- mod CATV transmitters, optical amplifiers and optical switches. With the goal being able to design reliable and producible products to the end customer.Build units to be used for development and DVT testing. During this process verify mechanical assembly of units. Work with creating test specifications for CATV testing. Verified material needed to build units until all of the bill of materials were completed Design verification testing, Build units for development and design verification. During this process mechanical assemblies and bill of materials checked. This verified products meet all customer specifications, includes both electrical and environmental testing. Create process travelers and test procedures based on results of DVT testing and Quality department input. Standardized test procedures to make training on new products easier. Train and transfer products to production departments. Work with both internal operation departments and contract manufactures to be able to build and test products.Scheduled and tracked initial production runs. Responsible for all units be built by engineering for early production and customer demo purposes Worked on reducing material cost by building common box builds using a main bill of materials and using smaller BOM’s to document smaller changes. This allows for one or two common box builds to be built and stocked and then built by order to support over 100 different models. Reducing lead times. Supported operations by updating process creating new model numbers and adding specifications to test system.During time at Emcore also trained in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and Design flow technology.

Emcore Production Group leader ,New product introduction Responsible for handing off the products from the engineering group to production. Verified all documents were in place for building and testing of units. Updating procedures and process as needed. Trained production engineers on product for transfer. Also worked on transfer of product to two new inexperienced production groups. Supported the production groups as needed.

Emcore had purchased the CATV division of JDS Uniphase in 2005. Responsible for 10 assemblers and technician for building and testing of 1550 ex-mod CATV products. Tracked all products going thru work cells to meet customer schedules. Trained new employees on product. Worked with engineering and quality groups on process and product improvements. During this time also was involved in transfer of product lines to two different plants

Responsible for building and testing 1550 ex mod CATV products. Other responsibilities included shipping and pulling material from stock room. Work with wide range of test equipment including spectrum analyzers ,rf generators , network analyzers , optical detectors ,o scopes, and both RF and optical power meters

Production technician. Worked in Microwave division testing various rf devices ranging from DC to 50 Ghz.Worked with network analyzers and signal generators.

Work on maintence of the AN/TPS-32 long range radar search system
