Podcaster, announcer, and producer for Iowa Public Radio News.During the legislative session I host and create the weekly podcast Under the Golden Dome, that follows some of the movements at the Capitol. I'm also the co-producer of Caucus Land that followed the 2020 presidential race through the Iowa caucuses. There are plans to produce a similar podcast series for the 2024 presidential cycle.I've also created an eight part podcast From the Archives, where I take audio recently found in Iowa Public Radio's basement. We found audio recorded decades ago where individuals like Martin Luther King Jr. Muhammad Ali, then former vice president Ricard Nixon, stoped by Iowa. It focuses on their message of that era with analysis from an expert in the 2020s giving us a perspective of how things were then and how they may have change or are more of the same today.For many years I was loaned out to the music department to record the seven masterworks shows of the Des Moines Symphony. It was quite the shift in my workflow, but I really enjoyed this. In the final years I started mixing in 5.1 surround. I had to stop doing this because it was too much to incorporate classical music field recording and post production while also doing one or more podcasts about state and national politics. But, I'm sure I'll show up in the recording scene again soon even if it's as a substitute. For live non music IPR events, I'm also the audio engineer and post production mixer. Sometimes this is for an IPR only presentation other times it's for visiting national program including NPR Politics Podcast, It's Been a Minute, and The Moth Radio Hours.As needed I'm an on air news host / news anchor.Additionally, I'm a photojournalist for my stories and I also photograph for other reporter's stories.Specialties: News writing, announcing, audio post production, field production, radio host, podcaster, photography.My main production software: Adobe Creative Cloud with Audition as my main audio software. I also like using Waves plugins for my audio mixes.
