Born in Nashville, JP began his career in music as a DJ in high school and founded the Ether Management, Inc. directly after graduation. While working in college radio at Fisk University, JP positioned Ether as a management company for music artists, overseeing general management as well as tour management. His efforts resulted in solid success, inspiring an expansion of the company's focus to include promotions and marketing for start-up indie labels. Ether's expanded focused pulled JP deeper into his clients' day-to-day operations, where he saw a real need for consulting on a more comprehensive level. While some clients needed A-to-Z assistance to become a viable indie label, others needed strengthening in specific departments to make the leap to success. As the music industry overall began to downsize, he also saw established labels also develop gaps that resulted in an increasing need for one-off project assistance. He made the decision to refine Ether further as company that directly addresses the needs of both indie and established labels by offering a la carte services provided by seasoned professionals. JP's past and present client list includes Juvenile, 36 Mafia, Bone Thugs, Capitol, Sony Urban, Jive/Zomba, Universal, EMI, Rock Solid Entertainment, and Roy Jones Jr's Body Head label and many more. He has provided his clients with consulting services ranging from management, marketing, and promotion to business affairs, A&R, project development, and the securing of recording and distribution deals with majors including Priority, EMI, and Red Distribution.
