Well versed in all aspects of commercial impaired loan management, including Power of Sale action, Receiverships, Bankruptcy, CCAA, Forbearance Agreements, Loan Loss provisioning, etc. • Built loan syndication capacity from the ground up, creating a Loan Participation Agreement and excel based syndication loan accounting programs. Established relationships with a half dozen syndicate partners to facilitate the syndication of several hundred million dollars of project and real estate financing over a 5 year period.• Constructed a comprehensive Commercial Risk Rating model resulting in a more stratified and bell shaped view of the risk of the commercial loan portfolio, and as importantly, provided a structured approach for lenders to take a holistic view of the overall risk profile of an individual borrower i.e. industry, business, management, financial and security risk factors. • Created numerous industry lending guidelines where Meridian had significant exposure.• Designed and launched an intranet portal to house all commercial credit related documents.• Completed portfolio PD and LGD modelling with assistance of a 3rd party consultant, for purpose of enhanced loan loss provisioning and construction of a RAROC model.• Grew the commercial credit team from 4 to 12 positions, playing a major role in recruitment and department restructure.• A member of the Capital Employment Committee, a committee made up of the executive team which assessed credit union appetite for new deals of certain size/industry/geography, assessed high level economic factors and potential impact on the commercial loan portfolio, • Made presentations from time to time to the Credit and Investment Committee of the Board, to support credit policy amendments and authorization of large dollar credit applications.
