- ATLAS Robot project team member. ATLAS is a high mobility, humanoid robot designed to negotiate outdoor, rough terrain. ATLAS will be competing in the DARPA Robotics Challenge in December 2013.- Designed ATLAS’s Power Distribution Board enclosure; accounting for design constraints such as size, heat, internal board and wire routing, active air cooling, and resistant to hydraulic oil. - Designed and assembled a calibration station for Linear Variable Differential Transformers (LVDTs). Station was used to calibrate every LVDT on robot, totaling approx. 220 LVDTs. - Designed various sheet metal guards & brackets which were used for critical components all over the robot.- Cleared project area for end user installation test layout including sourcing and assembling a gantry crane.- Performed tolerance studies on several weldments to solve issues with part installation and fitment as well as identify vendor errors.
