Advocate on behalf of Canada's public libraries, community media, and news media concerning the role of media in the national broadcasting sector.

• I developed a community paddling program based on Health Canada’s Designing Healthy Living report, to contribute to the community’s health and well being. • Managing in partnership with the Ottawa New Edinburgh Club, to integrate an Indigenous cultural awareness aspect to these guided tours. • Developing community stakeholder relationships with Indigenous organizations, such as the Metis Nation of Ontario, the City of Ottawa’s community centres, and various Indigenous friendship centres. • Providing Interpretive Canoe Guiding focused on Indigenous and local history.

• Supported the Ontario Region’s Regional Executive’s Office on issues management and action requests - strategic planning, writing, case management, and emergency response.• Developed a new case management system in Excel, provided Quality Assurance for correspondence, advising on information management and overall business process improvements.• Contributed towards Indigenous programming and retention efforts.

• I developed an exhibit, family reunion conference, and documentary film to commemorate the 200th birthday of Orillia, Ontario’s first-born settler, Francis Gaudaur; celebrating the intermingling of Chippewa, French, and British cultures who founded the community. The show, titled MNJIKANING: MAPPING THE LIFE OF THE GAUDAURS exhibited (April to September 2019). • Produced a two day Gaudaur-Shilling Family Reunion in July that I planned and hosted within a short, 6 week time frame at the Stephen Leacock Museum and National Historic Site. This event broadened the historical reconciliation of Orillia’s Indigenous settler family, by presenting the family’s historical contributions to Canada. • Concurrently, I co-produced a documentary film with Rogers Community Television that was released in September 2019, titled An Orillia Story (https://rogerstv.com/media?lid=237&rid=74&gid=318965 ). • Developed partnerships with my Metis and First Nations relations and the community. • Won support from the Chippewas of Rama Band Council, the City of Orillia, Rogers Community Television, the Georgian Bay Metis Council, and the Stephen Leacock Museum and National Historic Site.

Contracted to: • Conducted legal research and analysis, documenting the process used. • Wrote a report intended for senior management. • Provided recommendations to management for the improved drafting of Federal regulations and their maintenance.

• I developed a new Shared Waterways Program vision for this organization based on my proposal to ensure waterways may be shared safely among all stakeholders (motor boaters, non-motor boaters, environmentalists, enforcement and government stakeholders, and waterfront residents).• My Shared Waterways vision was adopted as the theme for its 2019’s annual CSBC Symposium (See: https://csbc.ca/en/events/annual-symposium/symposium-details ) and has become the new strategic focus of the Council for coming years, proving my capability as an analyst who can influence national discourse at the senior management level, leading to improvements in Canadian society.

• Monitored the construction of health facilities on First Nations reserves and inspections. • Program administered the development of new business processes, stakeholder consultations, research and analysis, senior management reporting, etc. • Coordinated National teleconference meetings for the Capital Program Review Committee (CPRC) developing agendas and Records of Decision as well. • Other projects: Facilitated a Transformation focus group on behalf of ISC, co-produced ISC’s Human Library Program, promoted Indigenous cultural awareness via archaeology and canoeing, created a new strategic vision for Federal libraries to support the policy community create evidence based policy, provided policy recommendations to improve Indigenous hiring & career advancement practices, supported planning efforts to establish a new Indigenous Federal Employees Network (IFEN), and managed the Division’s very successful United Way charitable program.

• Advising and representing both organizations to transform public libraries into a network of community media centres that provide training and production support for multimedia (films, television programs, recorded music, and computer programming), based on a vision I developed.

• Case managed approximately 100 claims at a time related to the Indian Residential School Settlement Agreement (IRSSA). • Conducted research and analysis to assess the validity of former students’ claims. • Co-produced a special forum for the Pacific Aboriginal Network to promote Indigenous hiring, retention and advancement in the Federal Public. The report I wrote following this forum was shared with the Committee for the Advancement of Native Employment (CANE) and senior management. • Assessed which Federal organizations had an impact on Canadian society as key actors, as a first step towards assessing the value of their archival records of enduring value (required my analysis of Federal legislation, policies and principles pertaining to the archiving of records and information management).

• Consulted to mainly Federal and some private sector clients on information services, information management, and information technology often innovating new services and systems. Management responsibilities and accomplishments: • As a senior partner in the firm, I managed marketing growth, human resources, finances, systems, and drafted our strategic plans. • Project managed up to 20 staff at a time on multiple projects including website development, controlled vocabularies, web writing, training programs, etc. • Performed sales activities, including new client development and maintenance. • Developed corporate communications, including producing an innovative networking website for our IM/IT clientele, content development, proposal writing, presentations to senior management, and promotional copy. • Led an aggressive corporate networking program.

• Consulted to mainly Federal and some private sector clients on information services, information management, and information technology often innovating new services and systems. • Provided advice to strategically redesign library services and governance, market services, develop corporate educational programs, and secure additional funding. • Administered a media monitoring program on behalf of 500 clients. • Advised on information and privacy law. • The media monitoring program I administered won the Agatha Bystram Award for Information Management in the Federal Public Service, beating out 34 other contestants.

• Proposed, developed and presented an information audit that exposed the serious impacts of funding cutbacks on information access in the department. • Won support for restored funding to the departmental library, implementation of a new resource centre catalogue system, and a revitalized departmental library system.
