Dr John Phamnguyen is a Consultant Neurologist and subspecialist Epileptologist based in Brisbane, Queensland. He completed his Epilepsy fellowship at one of Australia's largest surgical and complex epilepsy centres at Westmead Hospital in Sydney. He is currently pursuing a doctorate in advanced neuroimaging, focusing on understanding the functional network circuitry of tonic-clonic seizures. Dr John Phamnguyen is actively involved with medical education with medical students, physician and neurology trainees. He is also involved in teaching with the Asian Epilepsy Academy (ASEPA) and Epilepsy Society of Australia (ESA) with clinical epilepsy and EEG courses. His interests include invasive intracranial evaluations with SEEG monitoring and planning, management of complex and refractory epilepsies, and advanced neuroimaging methods in epilepsy.
