What drew me to healthcare is the same thing that drew me to the military. Service above self and the need for highly agile leaders who can operate effectively in complex adaptive systems. There is also no better place to practice servant leadership! Over my tenure I’ve had the unique opportunity to partner with, study, examine, and work within just about every facet of the healthcare ecosystem from Solo Practice to Federally Qualified Health Centers, Rural Health Clinics, Critical Access Hospitals, Community Hospitals, and Large Health Systems/Integrated Delivery Networks as well as The Veterans Affairs and Academic Medical Centers. I have also worked with many Hospital Associations, Medical Societies, and Independent Physician Associations. Through this work I was able to see healthcare from the perspective of the physician, the organization, and through an understanding of the patient experience. I was “boots on the ground” as it relates to adapting to the major shift our country has faced over the last decade. I helped healthcare organizations systematically and pragmatically adapt to the change, develop physician engagement and alignment strategies, build Accountable Care Organizations, align resources, focus their efforts, and continue to recruit and retain top talent during this tumultuous environment amidst constant uncertainty. While I truly enjoyed my work, for me to be the best healthcare executive and leader I needed to be in order to pursue my passion of improving the system, I had to dive deeper into value-based care and get my "hands in the playdoh.” So, I took a broadening assignment at one of DFW’s leading Independent Physician Associations. There I was able to truly understand how to efficiently and effectively run a practice, how to proactively use the data to maximize value-based care and drive actionable intel, how the money flows, and how to manage payor contracting and negotiations. This helped me fill in the gaps while focusing on being an inch wide and a mile deep.Now I am back working on a national level where I can leverage all my leadership, operations, military, consulting, business development, and recruiting experience to improve the healthcare system!In my current role, I drive our brand and organization forward by cultivating meaningful relationships, as a trusted advisor, and connecting our ever-expanding services and team of experts with client needs, providing everything from focused project resources to a complete enterprise solution!I look forward to connecting with you and being a value-added resource!
