I've been involved in academic research for many years, authoring 10 books and more than 100 articles and book chapters on statistical modeling, substance use, spirituality & religion, criminal behavior, juvenile delinquency, social deviance, and social science measurement.I'm also proficient in R, Stata, Python applications for statistical modeling, data science, data analytics, and machine learning. I've taught dozens of undergraduate- and graduate-level courses and workshops on applied statistics, research methods, regression analysis, data management, data presentation, R programming, criminal and delinquent behavior, substance use, and the sociology of spirituality and religion.I am an experienced grant writer and project manager, with several successful grant applications and contract awards from federal and state agencies and non-profit associations. I've managed teams from 2 to 20 people and written dozens of reports and public documents, served on legislatively endorsed panels, and reviewed grant applications for several U.S. federal agencies.
