I am currently in my second year as the College Advisor at City Arts and Leadership Academy, having previously worked as an assistant teacher during the 2022-2023 school year. My approach to college advising is student-centered, focusing on their interests and passions. I see my role as providing 12th graders with resources and pathways that enable them to pursue their personal post-secondary goals.Before working at the high school, I served as the Program Director for the community-based organization “Up On Top” from 2019 to 2022. “Up On Top” offers free after-school and summer programming to families in the Tenderloin District. Our services included student meals, tutoring, and recreational/enrichment activities, all while meeting the standards set by the Department of Children, Youth & Their Families (DCYF) I am a proud member of City Arts and Technology’s inaugural graduating class (Class of 2008) and a graduate of the College of Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University, where I majored in Asian American Studies. Both of these experiences have fueled my passion for serving my local community.
