Managing a Regional training programme in Small Arms and light weapons control as part of sub-regional efforts to implement the ECOWAS Convention on Small Arms and Light Weapons, Their Ammunition and Other Related Material (June 2006). Have developed and delivering four small arms related courses in stockpile management; marking, record-keeping and tracing; Border Security Management; and a foundation course in Small arms control. Audience are West Africa mid-career small arms control practitioners from government, security and civil society backgrounds.In 2013, led an additional intervention focused on emergency human capacity development in the security sector in five Sahel West African countries - i.e. Nigeria, Senegal, Niger, Mali and Burkina Faso. We developed courses and trained nationals of the above countries on security sector reforms, small arms control, border security management, collaborative policing and piracy and transnational crime. The aim was to support regional efforts at preventing another Mali-type situation in West Africa
