Rye Labs is an innovation lab within CIAL Dun & Bradstreet focused on fintech solutions in Latin America. We operate a white label B2B BNPL platform currently powering the Brazil finance platform, Finove. As CEO, my role spans engineering management, UX/UI design, and product/project management. Novo is a blockchain-based marketplace for commercial data. This project was an initiative within Rye Labs/CIAL Dun & Bradstreet. The initial prototype is a marketplace where users can request data on companies. A decentralized network of data collectors fulfills and verifies those requests. This project utilized a mix of centralized and decentralized technologies. Smart contracts were built for Ethereum using Solidity (via Truffle). The platform also required a centralized Node/Express server to store non-core data and do ancillary processing. The frontend of the application was built with React and Redux - integrating with Ethereum using Truffle Drizzle and Metamask.A mobile version of this project was built using React Native, but was never deployed before putting the project on hold.I led a team of 7 including two business analysts, three full-stack javascript engineers and two 3rd-party solidity engineers. This project included a large focus on system design and communicating the vision via multiple white papers, one-pagers, and presentations (you know, the whole "we're a blockchain company in 2017" thing).All of my hands-on engineering work was on the Javascript side of the platform. Starters is a digital community for sports technology entrepreneurs and leaders. We started as a small slack community of like-minded founders and grew to a global community of thousands of leaders working at the intersection of sports and technology. As we grew, we built our own community platform that combined features from Linkedin, Facebook, Angel List, and Slack.Starters was built with Ruby-on-Rails for the API and React on the frontend. Sportd is Yelp for sports camps. We make it super easy for parents to find the best sports camps and local coaching for their athlete.Sportd was built with Ruby-on-Rails with frontend components built in React. This wasn't a SPA, but a mix of server rendered views and React components.I was the sole engineer and designer. I handled everything from the UI design (Sketch) to full-stack web development to deployments. The problem is that I neglected the biz dev side of the company which is why the startup failed in the end.
