Information Security Specialist
Contracted by the Federal Government to support the Joint Staff (JS) Security Office as a subject matter expert on Information Security. Provides support for the identification and protection of national security information (NSI) and controlled unclassified information (CUI) by providing subject matter expertise and guidance at all JS installations in Suffolk, Norfolk, and the Pentagon. Inquiry reports are created to advise facts and provide recommendations to management to prevent future security violations. Assists in the development and updates of several Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure alignment is with current national polices, executive agency guidance, and DoD directives. Created new or updated training content for all Directorates in the JS on classification, declassification, and protection of NSI and CUI. Utilizes the Defense Information Security System (DISS) in the JS Visitor Control program to process Visit Access Requests to grant visitors and personnel access and badging through the Lenel Electronic Access Control System and JS Security Database.
Systems Analyst Senior/ Information Knowledge Management (Ikm)
Contracted by the Federal Government to support the DoD Joint Chief of Staff contract as the IKM for the U.S. Coalition Interoperability Assurance and Validation (CIAV) Lead. Primarily tasked to provide the administration, management, and life cycle of information and control of information resource. Assist in disseminating information about the organization’s knowledge sharing program to internal and external audiences, including organizing knowledge sharing events (site visits and interviews), maintaining communications on knowledge sharing across the organization, participation in orientation and training sessions. Coordinated with internal and external personnel to conduct document reviews of NSI, CUI, and Foreign Government Information (FGI). Reviews were conducted to ensure that documents of various levels were marked appropriately and safeguarded as prescribed by policy. Ensured incoming reports or briefs followed the division’s template, free of grammatical errors, prior to transmitting to senior leadership. Proactively supported the US CIAV Nation Lead, Deputy Nation Lead, and program support team in a variety of meetings, workshops, and working groups.
Background Investigator
Contracted by the Federal Government as a Special Investigator to perform investigations for the National Background Investigations Bureau (NBIB) and the US Office of Personal Management (OPM). Employed full-time through General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT). Conducts complex completive qualification investigations on candidates for top federal administrative and executive positions via comprehensive interviews. These interviews determine an individual’s suitability for employment with the Federal Government, eligibility for access to classified information, assignment to or retention in positions with sensitive duties, or other designated duties requiring such investigations.Reviews appropriate records to obtain facts, resolves all material concerns in a case, and establishes the background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications of the subject under investigation. The investigation often involves personal and intimate details of an individual’s life and must be processed and conducted with tact and discretion as well as confidentiality.Conducts more complex, full-field character investigations, which provide comprehensive coverage of basic suitability, eligibility, loyalty, and overall security-related concerns for multiple federal agencies responsible for some of the nation’s most sensitive missions.Investigative requirements vary on a case-by-case basis and cases must be completed on a high priority schedule and involve in-depth interviews with key executives at all levels of government, private industry, academia, and other professions.Independently conducts suitability and limited suitability investigations under minimal supervision. Constantly met or exceeded quality, quantity, and timeliness metrics month over month.
