Supporting and providing architectural design governance for the Payments and Integration aspects of the Building Society's Core Banking Platform Replacement ProgrammeResponsible for producing the outline architecture designs by combining business requirements and IT strategy to ensure projects deliver cost effective solutions that are working towards transforming the business. I provided architectural governance on projects to ensure high level designs align with outline architecture and be a point of escalation on projects for architectural design issues.Produced the logical payments IT enterprise architecture model that defined the services/components required in the to-be state to enable the business to understand the payments strategy in real solution terms for costing via the investment bid process. This involved working with the Head of Payments Strategy and senior management team along with the Head of IT Enterprise Architecture and Payments Enterprise Architect to define a replacement architecture for the legacy estate components with a secure, scalable service enabled payments hub.Produced the Outline Architecture Design to support the additional Payment Services Directive regulations that were enforced on the 1st January 2012. This involved working with the Head of Payments Strategy and senior management team along with the Payments Enterprise Architect to ensure the changes to the architecture are cost effective, can be implemented in the timescales dictated, and moves the building society towards the target architecture.Responsible for the Payments and Funding aspects of the architecture design and related integration of the new payments platform for the retail saving account phase of the building society’s core banking transformation programme. Provided architecture guidance to external consultants, ensuring their architectural solutions are aligned to the company's architectural strategies, principles and guidelines.

I was responsible for defining application and services architecture and guiding principles, along with the application integration strategy and the output correspondence strategy. This involved proving architectural guidance and thought leadership and communicating the architectural strategy to the wider design community. I was a member of the architecture review board. I was the sponsoring architect on 2 major business transformation programmes and technical consultant on many other projects.Replace the legacy banking product ledger with SAP Deposits Management and the modernisation of the channel applications, including Account Origination, CRM, Branch Teller and Back Office. Responsible for the integration architecture working with a multisource team, including external architects and off shore development teams (Germany & India). Responsible for the delivery of the integration components of the new platform, in particular leading the service enablement of the SAP Banking Services product, the architectural design of the channel integration layer and integration with the new payments processing platforms. These were high performance components, requiring to be highly available and scale for future growth. I ensured each of the associated suppliers were aligned to the architectural strategies, principles and guidelines. I provided governance to ensure designs aligned to the architecture and was a point of escalation for key design issues.Re-architecture of the payments processing platform to support the near real-time processing 'Faster Payments' scheme and the introduction of a batch payments processing platform in preparation for a new core banking ledger replacement. Providing architectural guidance and governance to the implementation team, helping shape the solution architecture and ensuring alignment to the society’s architectural strategy, principles and guidelines. Ensuring the architecture aligns with the core bank replacement architecture.

A hands on Technical Lead of a Microsoft development team that was responsible for the development of the building society's omni-channel current account and credit card origination solution. Performed the role of Senior Software Developer which also included solution architecture and design. Lead a team of developers, managing their development tasks. I worked throughout the full project life-cycle on the Intranet, Extranet, and client based applications to provide efficiency based savings to the company and its customers. In addition I designed and developed a Business to Business system to facilitate the transfer of Job Ticket data between the company systems and its partners (Hewlett Packard)/clients, and other Enterprise Application Integration projects.
